UMLS Reading List
Gents: The page is pretty self-explanatory. I’m not putting a link to it here because we don’t want the whole world to join. I texted it to you last night, if you can’t find it, text me and I’ll send it again.
I populated the list from my own list of books I’ve read, I think there is a lot of overlap with the club in general. But I don’t know what you’ve all read, so when everyone has had a look through and rated theirs, I’ll remove the others. By the way, if you haven’t read a book, just don’t give a rating.
Column names
Should be obvious, except for:
- Read: More or less when we read it. If you have a better idea about how to do this, tell me.
- Pub: The year it was published.
- Names: One column each, where each puts his overall rating of the book. Integers 1-5 only.
- Avg: A calculated average rating for the club.
Access
- Right now there’s very little security, so anyone can join and edit.
- You must have an email account of some kind, I suggest using your Gmail or other Google account, but others will probably work.
- You should only have to log in once if you return from the same device. Anyone can just look from anywhere.
- I suggest using a computer rather than a phone for anything other than just looking, but you do you.
Entering new books
If you want to enter a new book into the list, you have options:
- Tell me and I’ll do it.
- Enter it at the bottom of the list and I’ll get it into the right place.
- Add a new line to the worksheet. If you don’t know how to do this or can’t figure it out, ask me.
Security
- Everyone has full rights for editing now, so if you think you’ve fucked something up badly, let me know and I’ll fix it.
- I will eventually make it harder to utterly screw it up, but for now, just take a little care.
