This is my personal site, in place of most social media. It’s better this way.
My email is matt@kolon.org. I’m also boingit.88 on Signal.
Thank God I met my wife, the remarkable artist Patty Hudak, in Brookyn in 1991.
Our offspring are limited to Carl Kolon and Nellie Kolon, each unlimited.
We see many operas together, mostly at The Met in NYC.
We now live near Vermont’s Mt Mansfield. I sometimes take pictures of it.
In Beijing we were acquired by a cat. We have followed her across three
countries and an ocean. She likes dessert and has quite a pedigree.
Hill Associates creates programs that teach people how to build, run, secure, sell,
and regulate telecommunications and networking solutions. I’m the CTO there.
I’m also a founding board member of Mansfield Community Fiber.
My professional resume might be graphically summarized like this:
Various (mostly outdoor) sports activities are regular preoccupations of mine.
Often with the help of some LLM-based artificial intelligence, I write a bit of code.
A busy middle age interrupted my youthful reading addiction, which I’m now feeding again.
The eternal genius Claude Shannon and I graduated from the same high school.
